Berdahl has never worked for an independent local board: fact.

Just wait… When the foundation and sports fans lead this university- you’ll be begging for OUS.

Really? so that’s your only response is that I might not want to disclose who I am?
Deal with the argument Daffy- does the faculty truly trust the foundation and football fans to lead this institution to academic excellence? Or do you think they will steer it toward mediocrity in education and excellence in areas that alums and donors care about? I don’t think I’m reaching too far here. Why can’t we have an engaging conversation about the issues that many of us who don’t TRUST the foundation have with them deciding how we are governed? I have worked at many institutions- including one with an independent board that we frequently aspire to be like.. and it isn’t the holy grail people think it is. I worry that my value as a researcher and educator isn’t as important to donors as other things, and I don’t think they know enough facts about higher education and all the issues we deal with to lead reform. Thats all. but yeah- focus on the fact that its anonymous.
