Football success leads to enrollment surge

Or maybe it’s something else. Oregon Institute of Technology enrollment is up 10%, the largest % in the OUS system. OIT doesn’t have a football team. Instead they recruit students by telling them how tough their academic programs are:

They also don’t belong to the NCAA, instead they are part of the “National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics“. I don’t know much about the NAIA, except that their academic standards are tougher than the NCAA’s: You have to have a 3.5 GPA to be a NAIA “Scholar Athlete”, while a 3.0 will get you NCAA academic honors.
