Gottfredson panics over Trustees debacle, cancels week 1 schedule to regroup

Last updated on 04/07/2014

4/6/2014 Update: President Gottfredson to start this week with a closed meeting with UO Board leadership. Maybe they’ll start the planning for his public 360 degree performance review? FWIW I think Coltrane would be a fine interim president.

4/3/2014: That’s the least troubling of the rumors about administrative disarray, at tonight’s faculty club smoker. I report, you decide – but as of Thursday night Greg Rikhoff still hadn’t posted Gottfredson’s official schedule for the week starting Monday 3/31. (Update: On thursday his official schedule for the week, such as it is, was finally posted.)

He didn’t post his schedule, so you try to say this has something to do with the recent board meeting? More trash journalism. You sometimes have a positive effect, so why do you engage in such garbage as this? What a joke.

He should panic, if the party I just left was representative. The few faculty supporters he had left are writing him off, and their language is a lot nastier than Bill Harbaugh’s.

Lighten up – it was a joke. Maybe not a good one, but a joke nonetheless.

The governance of this University is not a joke to some of us. The nasty vitriol created by this blog only works to hurt our University. I understand Bill and some of you support such destructive methods, I do not.

It clearly is a joke to the clowns running fake searches for admin posts, for admins making sweeping changes to policy while they desperately search for alternative positions, admins blatant obfuscation of truths regarding you name it, appointing oneself to the board of trustees, EMU debacle, CBA, ad infinitum……. its a joke alright and the joke is on the people working hard to make a go of it here while the gladhanders fight for the status quo (optimized and celebrated mediocrity)

If its not a joke, can you promise to stop cussing in public forums about the university’s professors, even if you don’t agree with them? What hurts the university? Vitriol? Or wasted resources?

Katz, please. Do you listen to yourself or is that horse too high for sound to carry?

But thank god we now have you around to fight for shared governance and take it so seriously. Lord knows the many faculty who have fought that fight for well over a hundred years need your help making sure we don’t joke about this.
