Investigation of how university handled rape allegations leads to more firings

No, of course I’m not talking about the investigation of the alleged gang rape by 3 of Dana Altman’s players. UO never conducted an investigation. Gottfredson’s “Independent” Review Panel, which included Bob Berdahl, was specifically told *not* to investigate the alleged rape, or the coverup. No one was fired, unless you count Gottfredson’s own $940K buyout. KATU’s report:

I’m talking about Baylor University, who hired an outside firm to investigate. The results have led to the reassignment of President Ken Starr, the firing of the football coach, and now of the athletic director. The Chronicle has more here.

Gottfredson’s panel did make one interesting recommendation though: against mandatory reporting.

Serious question because I’ve lost the thread of our thought: What exactly is your point on this topic?:

    (1) That UO botched its handling of the incident by failing to conduct an investigation which would have concluded that the three students did not engage in criminal or improper behavior (e.g., the position of the D.A. and the students’ own lawsuits), or

    (2) That UO botched its handling of the incident by failing to conduct an investigation which would have concluded that the three players acted criminally or improperly and covered that up?

The whole point of having an investigation is that you don’t know what it would conclude.
