And those coaches aren’t using those millions to pay it forward when it comes to the annual University Employees Charitable Fund Drive. Just seven donations from Athletics, with two days left in the tax year. In contrast 27 librarians have donated, for a total of almost twice as much, despite their considerably lower income and marginal tax rate, hence higher after-tax cost of giving. Not that I’m an expert on the economics of charitable donations:
