    The figure in the article showing the 1/3 drop in Romance languages intro enrollment says a lot.

    Fits with stories I heard about depts hiring more adjuncts even as enrollments plunged. Not true?

    I do think Schill, in this case, has it correct
    this time in this quote in which he says “Teaching is
    not constant”.

    “The nature of non-tenured faculty is that they are not here permanently. They are here year to year,” Schill said. “… there’s a hardship in that, which is you don’t know if you have a job or not, but that is the point of non-tenured faculty, is that they are meeting teaching needs that are not constant.”
