Students demand president fire professor for disagreeing with them

Comments comparing this to UO’s reaction to the “Halloween Incident” are welcome, but I’m enforcing Euler’s Rule with vigor.

A horrifying story from the current outer edge of academic suppression of anything remotely consistent with freedom of speech and thought. Some may decry an allusion to totalitarianism. Read the story, in this and many other articles. And there seems to be an endless stream of similar stories at other schools.

The situation at UO is not this dire. But we are closer to it than we may like to think.

I can’t wait to show up for U of O’s inevitable Day of Absence. I’ll be the one with the glass of whole milk, mayo sandwich, and an American flag.

I hope you don’t mind if I have my mayo with corned beef and black pumpernickel. And plenty of mustard.
