President Trump joins Coach Altman in pressuring black athletes to keep quiet

9/24/2017: Apparently both share similarly grandiose views of their authority, and both lack an understanding of the First Amendment and American history. Of course the NCAA gives Altman considerably more power over “his” players than Trump has over Kaepernick, the NFL and the NBA, and so far Altman been able to keep them quiet. Trump, not so much:

12/10/2014: Coach Dana Altman thinks National Anthem is the wrong time to protest racism

Our fool of a basketball coach thinks he owns those players. They shouldn’t protest when he’s trying to collect his $2M paycheck, off their free labor.

Fortunately we’ve still got people who can hear someone sing “O’er the land of the free, and the home of the brave” and actually understand what it means.

Want to ask the players what they think? No. Duck AD Rob Mullens and his PR flack Craig Pintens have a rule about players talking to reporters without permission, and “Benjamin and Bell have not been made available to comment.”

yes trump is an idiot, biased social Darwinist, insensitive and uncaring tool, whatever … and his idiocy knows no limits

In the last 2 weeks the NFL has raised millions of dollars for relief of Hurricane victims and did so faster than any other agency

Yet we have a president that think they are un-American

Fortunately it is not the 1920s anymore (or are we moving there now …)

Remember, the fans have the same first amendment right not to tune in.

Watching Around the Horn and PTI today there was the most healthy and insightful conversation about the NFL anthem protest yesterday than I have seen in any other media, other than Dan Rather’s Facebook post about this.

Judging from the overall lack of interest or even knowledge that this is going on, I suspect most people don’t give a shit or don’t understand why this might be important.

Okay, idiot dog, what is this important?

NFL owners are all members of the billionaires club and many of them are Trump financial supporters. Trump has now clearly lost that support contingent and they showed that they would not tolerate extremism. As explored in Dan Rather’s post – this is a nation that discussed differences. What PTI guys said is I think is profound: Trump pushes people that in the middle to occupy extreme points of view that they don’t want to have. Trump is a binary polarizer.

I think the impact of this has been significantly underestimated.
