The UO Faculty Club in the Schnitzer Art Museum is now open 5-7 Wed and Th, and 4-6 Friday. Attendance tonight was about 40, and the room can’t hold many more. English was having their department party, and some physicists showed up with their seminar speaker. I did not observe any violations of the UO policies on Academic Freedom and Free Speech, which include strict sanctions against dragging out your story for so long that no one else can get a word in:
The University supports free speech with vigor, including the right of presenters to offer opinion, the right of the audience to hear what is presented, and the right of protesters to engage with speakers in order to challenge ideas, so long as the protest does not disrupt or stifle the free exchange of ideas.
