UO Matters v. Around the O: Pageview Smackdown

Official UO “Around the O” blogger Joe Mosley was kind enough to share his Google Analytics from the first 3 weeks in January with me. Not looking good for UO Matters, though our readers have got AtO beat 9,269 to zero on comments.

Well, UOM doesn’t incessantly spam everyone’s inbox, either. It’s also not costing the UO over $100k.

… or teasing with contests for iPads.

    Kudos to UOM.

It has much more reach than I thought. Remember besides the other two comments. Around the O is I believe linked to from things like the Emerald and the UO home page. It probably also has a facebook page, a twitter hashtag and the likes.

That is some serious linkage power. What does UOM have? Word of mouth at the faculty sauna and Scotch left at drop locations in the hills, and the unfortunate times when the editor gets to give a comment to a large metropolitan paper and instead of a well thought out response about the state of higher education and how we got here with a plug for UOM, all that is printed is: thats great news! don’t let the door hit you in the behind.

Thanks man. Where did you say you left the scotch?

    • Anonymous 02/15/2013

How many of those hits at AtheO came from UOM’s link?
