One by one the chamois flee – the rest stick together. And then?

Obviously the goats are the faculty, and the avalanche is Johnson Hall bs and bloat. Seeing the onslaught, a few wiser goats flee and form a union. The other goats cower in fear, ignoring the urgent bleating of the union members, and are apparently lost to the onslaught.

But then, one by one, they arise, shake off their chains, and join the rest of the herd in safety. In the end all the goats eke out a meager existence, feeding off the few tufts of nourishing grass left on the edges of the avalanche.
