Meanwhile for those interested in numbers instead of mindless sports boosterism, here’s the ECONorthwest economic impact doc. It looks like the reality may have been a bit shy of the numbers that were ginned up to justify the state subsidies:
well I said earlier:
‘wtf! Agate St. still mostly closed 4 days after the event was supposedly over! Did UO take over the street from the city? I hope the city got a good price.’
and I take it back because I just got an announcement that the streets will be back to normal Aug 1. still seems a bit much.
It takes them a full week to figure out the event’s over…?
