11/19/2012: One of the weirder moments of Bob Berdahl’s brief UO interregnum was his videotaped rant at the May Senate meeting, when the students asked to add one more member to the IAC. We must have pissed away 30 minutes of 30 people’s lives debating that. Berdahl drew a line in the sand on this for one simple reason: the IAC was for it. You know you’re in Absurdistan when the debate starts with Senate Pres Kyr reading a statement that says “The Committee on Committees does not want to act in a way that reflects badly on Interim President Berdahl, however, …” Ben Eckstein was eloquent – students pay, they should have a say – but Hubin had twisted some arms behind the scenes and the vote failed. Things have changed though. Last week President Gottfredson quietly added a sixth student. No drama. Thanks for that, Mr. President.
WAHOO!
I’m guessing you are a student. Faculty are rarely so enthusiastic about being appointed to a committee.
You know you’re in Absurdistan as soon as someone says “the Committee on Committees.” But I digress.
The Policy on Policies is very clear about the importance of the Committee on Committees.
And the decision on decisions was supported by the Policy on Policies which was created by the Committee on Committees.
A better tomorrow tomorrow
