Occasionally people posting in the comments here criticize UO Matters for wasting time his time on this blog. In reality he is a superhero — doing serious and interesting research, founding and running the SAIL program, and uncovering the misdeeds of the UO administration. And he’s pretty nice guy with a terrific sense of humor.

Those who the unmasked UOM agree.
I won’t mention how much I love it when blog readers criticize blog writers for wasting time. If anything, aren’t the readers contributing less utility. (Exceptions, of course, are Jim Bean and Randy Geller, who both seem quite able to destroy utility when they write. Oh, and Gottfredson doesn’t write… he just speaks.)

I deleted a bunch of comments from the usual Bean/Frohnmayer defender. Repost them with your name, some actual information, or at least try to make them rhyme.

In ‘The Dark Knight’ many people thought Batman had gone bad. But by the end of ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ it was clear to everyone that Batman was a true superhero. Just like Batman, UO Matters is going to step on some toes occasionally — ask the Joker (or Jim Bean). Turning over rocks around UO and exposing what’s underneath — evil or pure — is a thankless job. Gotham sleeps better tonight with UO Matters on the job.

One correction: Gottfredson doesn’t speak – he just moves his mouth.

Saw a bunch of SAIL students in bright t-shirts on campus the other day, they looked happy and excited. Glad to hear the program is going so well, it’s a wonderful contribution on the part of UOM and others.
