Diane Dietz has the story in the RG. This is news to the UO Faculty and Senate, which has been pretty much kept out of the loop, despite Oregon law which delegates this responsibility to the faculty. The links below, from the UO Senate website, don’t go to any actual revisions.
US13/14-46 | Proposed Change to the Student Conduct Code to Standard of Preponderance of Evidence | Notice Given | Legislation |
US13/14-47 | Proposed Change to Student Conduct Code to Extend Jurisdiction Off Campus | Notice Given | Legislation |
The Oregon Administrative Rules on UO’s student conduct code are pretty interesting: http://arcweb.sos.state.or.us/pages/rules/oars_500/oar_571/571_tofc.html My read is that changes require public notice, a hearing, a statement of financial impact, etc.
The Senate Committee on Student Conduct’s composition and charge is also derived from the OAR: http://committees.uoregon.edu/node/23
