According to the R-G article, “The gates at the then-new UO ball field, meanwhile, were named after an English professor who was long-time chair of the faculty athletics committee . . . .”
They used to do that sort of thing? Recognize the work of the athletics committee of the faculty?
Where in the world did someone get the idea that faculty governance had a role in UO athletics? How quaint.
