8/19/2016: Faculty Union to sue university over cruel and inhumane lack of AC in PLC
The NYT has the story here. Just kidding about the faculty union, it’s about Louisiana inmates suing the State Department of Corrections. Interestingly, Texas law requires prisons be kept between 65 and 85 degrees. (Fahrenheit, I hope.)
Here in PLC, the administration has dealt with the heat problem with this list of helpful suggestions, including “sit forward in your chair instead of leaning against the backrest” and “wipe your face, neck and arms with cool water”:
I left otterpops in the freezer…
Work at home. HR is providing a significant subsidy to faculty who surrender their office and work at home. For more info on the compensation, and agree to serve also as subjects in the experiment visit:

I’m told that over in some of the old science monstrosities, it is too cold no matter how much you adjust the non-functioning thermostats.
Maybe the recycling department could figure out how to do a heat exchange.
