CAS Dean Andrew Marcus issues blunt challenge to faculty

Details after the break. But don’t panic, it’s not as threatening as it sounds.

Dear Colleagues,

Today is Day of Giving across the UO campus. The UO aims to attract 1,856 new donors in a single day. This follows on last year’s successful inaugural Day of Giving, which raised $1.83 million for the UO, including $295K for CAS.

To inspire CAS donors — especially those who have never given before — I am putting forth the “CAS Dean’s Challenge.”

I have personally made a $50,000 gift to Tykeson Hall, the new CAS building that is being designed from the ground up to help students more intentionally navigate their liberal arts experience and set themselves on a meaningful path toward career and life success. Learn more about Tykeson Hall here.

I invite you to consider joining me, even with a small gift, and/or helping get the word out via social media or email to your friends and family.

Please join me in in helping thousands of future students follow their passion and find personalized success in the liberal arts. Find out more on the CAS Day of Giving page.

Thank you for all you do to promote student success!

Warm regards,

Andrew Marcus

And remember you can give your money to SAIL at the link here, and your time by volunteering to help with a summer camp by emailing Lara Fernandez here.

Yes please sign me up to contribute to the need for the CAS deans to have better offices …

Don tykeson certainly did not give 7 plus figure money just to have better admin offices. He and other donors are attracted by the effort to have better advising, menoring, student retention for CAS and other students.
