“… the event is a must-attend for anyone looking to contribute positively to our workplace environment…”
Dear colleagues,
We are excited to invite you to an inspiring event, “Courageous Civility with Shola Richards,” on Thursday, November 7, 2024, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the EMU Ballroom. Doors will open at 1:30 pm.
Join us for a keynote presentation by Richards, a leading expert in workplace civility, equity, and inclusion. Richards is a dynamic and inspiring speaker, and the event is a must-attend for anyone looking to contribute positively to our workplace environment.
This event is open and free to all faculty and staff and the first 200 registrants will receive a complimentary copy of Richard’s new book, Civil Unity.
Don’t miss this opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations and connect with colleagues!
A reception with light refreshments will be offered from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm following Richard’s keynote. He will also be signing copies of his book.
Please RSVP by following this link to register, and to read more about Richards.
We look forward to seeing you there!
Sincerely, Chris
Sponsored by the Lundquist College of Business, School of Journalism and Communication, College of Design, College of Arts and Sciences, School of Law, School of Music and Dance, Clark Honors College, and the Central Business Services Office (Office of the Provost).
Chris J. Poulsen
Tykeson Dean of Arts and Sciences
So the “sponsored by” list means all of those Deans were asked by the Provost to share the hit, right?
Deans? No, the faculty, OA’s, and staff will pay for this – so sign up early and get your free book! Oh wait, I mean “contribute positively for this”.
UOM don’t forget the student tuition money. They are probably the ones paying for this.
F[udge] that.
We have such visionary leaders.
It’s not enough to underpay you. To completely destroy your hope we have to spend the money on fools like this, and then make you watch them.
Why doesn’t this transformational speaker even merit a wikipedia page?
Because it would be fact-checked.
Jeez, ya think there could have been better use for the funds?
Come on Harbaugh, even provosts get to indulge in a little drunk shopping now and then.
Personally I think this should come out of the Provost’s contractually provided alcohol budget.
Comment of the week. Email your contact info to Provost Long’s office and he will send you a complimentary fifth of Jäegermeister by campus mail.
I propose that UOMatters start using “Long Shola” to denote administrative expenditures of $40K. As in “The new Collegiate Faculty Award will pay out a bit less than a Long Shola over three years to the lucky professor of Dean Poulsen’s choice.”
