President Schill reveals chronic bibliophilism, begs faculty for help

8/27/2015: I was told there were about 20 people in line at one point this morning and it’s not just drop off the book and run – expect our new president to ask you some questions, and answer some. The faculty are loving this. Who would have guessed that professors like to talk about their latest book? Next visiting hours:

  • Tuesday, Sept. 1, 4-5 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Sept. 8, 3:30-4:30 p.m.

    Just faculty? Other members of the UO community have written/edited/contributed to books too.

      I’m pretty sure this is a good faith gesture. Lets not beat up the new guy for microaggressions.

    So are faculty charging the new million-dollar president for the books? As an economist, what does this say about the books’ value?

      Well, there’s the Joel Waldfogel paper on the deadweight loss of xmas gifts, but I think that misses the main point of gift exchanges.
