UO Dean of Students confused about spelling, days of the week

Last updated on 06/01/2016

I can no longer remember which UO President moved graduation from the weekend to Monday in a slavish accommodation for some track meet, and utter disregard for the families who must skip work to watch their children graduate.

But it’s been years now. Can’t our Dean of Students get the difference between formerly and formally straight, and remember that the weekend is followed by Monday, not vice versa?

The text has been updated to fix the two problems you pointed out, but it has still not been copied and pasted into Word to look for red squiggles. Typing is hard.

“These ceremonies usually occur following the last day of spring classes through the university-wide celebration on Monday.”

No, they occur after finals week, which follows the last week of classes.
