Also see Libby Sanders in the Chronicle, here. Currently the NCAA acts as a hiring cartel to prevent athletes bargaining for a better deal – like, say, their coaches do. Did you know that UO’s scholarship offers are year by year, and that they can revoke a scholarship for a student who is doing well academically, but is injured and unable to perform athletically? Does anyone know if this has happened here? No 4 year guarantees for the players – not even on tuition – but the coach gets 7 years at $2 million per.
