Fascinating that many of the states at the high end in higher ed funding are “deep red” and/or Deep South. Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, Utah, W. Virginia … Whilst some of the deep blue states are very low. Oregon certainly fits this pattern, while being somewhat in the middle — the latter probably a recent development. California a notable exception.
