Nebraska got the boot at the AAU’s 4/10/11 meeting, and Jim Bean announced he’d hired their Associate VP for Research away from them on 4/13/2011. Of course Nebraska did manage to keep the AAU vote secret for a few weeks. I wonder when Espy told Bean about it. 4/12/13.
“But for several years, Nebraska has lagged behind most others on the criteria for membership.”
We’re not in “most” I take it. Gottfredson, are you doing anything about this? Anything?
He’s hiring more JH administrators and ratcheting up their pay.
Espy was not the VP of research at Nebraska. She was the Associate Vice chancellor. She reported to equivalent of the VP of Research at Nebraska.
She’s a quick study in failure, and a petty social climber. She has as much regard for the academic environment as a mining company does for the natural environment. She’s a perfect match for the University, and we’re proud to have her (for now).
Thanks, corrected.
