5/17/2013: It sure looks that way to me, and Lane County Registrar Cheryl Betschart has asked him for an explanation. You remember Pernsteiner, right?
Last time I asked this question Pernsteiner had his lawyer, Bill Gary of HLGR, send this response to the registrar, claiming Pernsteiner intended to return to Lane County and make it his permanent residence:
Sure he plans to return. I like that “we respectfully request that this information be held in confidence” part. Nice try, Mr. Gary. Of course, lying to the Registrar about this sort of thing is a felony:
You have way too much free time…
Seems to me it has little to do with free time and is more of a personal vendetta. this latest post show more clearly the true nature of this blog and what it is really about.
I agree. Chancellor Pernsteiner is an important man, not one of those illegal immigrants the democrats keep trying to register, so they can pass their tax increases and socialized medicine laws. He should be allowed to vote wherever he wants. I hope Betschart ignores this effort to harass him.
Enough Citizens think that Pernsteiner embarrasses Higher Education that the “vendetta”, if that’s what it is, could hardly be classified as “personal”.
Vendetta? No, I’m just raising the cost of refusing to provide public records, for one overpaid bureaucrat at a time.
What the hell is wrong with people around here? Vendetta? Are you serious?
As long as people associate “importance” with a thievery licence, we’re doomed.
Has Anonymous failed to detect a bit of sarcasm?
Pernsteiner sucks and is useless. Expose his crooked ass for all to see.
Pernsteiner was forced from his job for being incompetent and the community is well rid of him. He should get himself back to Portland from whence he came. His official residence when he worked in Eugene was always stated as Portland so why is he now considering himself as a Eugene resident? The only reason he had a home in Eugene was so that when he was here on official OUS business he had a place in which to stay, the reason he had such a nice home is beyond me since it was my understanding that he was a commuter by choice.
Vendetta? Against the man who stabbed The Hat in the back? Against the man who came down to Mac Court and told the UO that we are most definitely not governed by our faculty? Against the man who arranged illegal back-room decision-making by the OUS board, resulting in a kangaroo court that deposed the UO’s president?
He was a croissant-receipt-submitting disgrace who abused and oversaw a corrupt system for personal gain. Hell yes, it’s a vendetta. Yes and yes and yes.
For me, it’s all about the public records. This started in 2007, when Pernsteiner tried to hide the $50K he spent on a 12 page consultant’s report, to justify giving Frohnmayer a raise.
Sort of a defining moment to realize how administrators will use every tool they can think of, to prevent the public from learning what they’re up to.
Now Mike Gottfredson is trying the same techniques Pernsteiner used.
He doesn’t smile, he twitches. He knew Kitzhaber was going to can him next. Of course he made out pretty well with his severance!
