The last search was led by VPFA Jamie Moffitt, and led to a botched hire, followed by the appointment of an emergency interim consultant, Laura MacDonald. The search was then restarted. The job add for the permanent position says:
The successful candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree (advanced degree and appropriate professional certifications strongly preferred), five to ten years of progressive management experience within a complex organization serving multiple constituencies, preferably within higher education, strong technical knowledge of HR functions and technology with extensive experience in the administration of compensation and benefits programs; the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with all campus constituents, a foundational understanding of issues and opportunities related to equity and inclusion and a demonstrated record of promoting diversity in the faculty and staff. Labor relations, particularly in negotiating and interpreting collective bargaining agreements, is strongly preferred.
There are 3 outside candidates, plus Ms McDonald. For some reason Moffitt’s office removes the resumes and schedules after people visit, so I’ve added them back:

Is this a situation where the UO plans to hire a friend of the friend of the finance VP? No doubt these are all good people, but based on the resumes, the last candidate does not appear to meet ANY of the preferred qualifications listed in the job ad.
