Anyone know why Speaker Fahey just replaced all but two members of the higher ed committee three days ago? Specifically, replaced everyone (except for one D, who is now the chair, and one non-impactful R) with newly elected lawmakers in their first term? Sucks to suck for anyone interested in higher ed lobbying right now. Oregon student association gone, and almost everyone educated on higher ed policy issues in the house is now out of power / on different committees.
Could ask her. Julie is pretty approachable

It usually means someone has big plans; then again…
Remember when Gov. Kitz replaced nearly the whole OUS Board in a very short (probably illegal) time; and had his buddy Neil chair it for the big changes? Sure, back when there were legislative and education reporters at the Oregonian, that also knew their job, Neil and Kitz got sidetracked; but that only delayed the plan by a few years.
It is always fun to see how the sausage is made.
