Try to say this with a straight face: “My university teaches all students to look at problems from every angle, to understand the other person’s point of view, and to use these multiple perspectives to come up with new, original viewpoints.”
Mind you, if you can’t say this with a straight face, you’re not going to university, you’re going to a trade school.
Oh liberal conservative moderate dog-raving bad, it doesn’t matter, professors have been programming students ever since the University of Bologna was founded in 1089. Why – there simply is not enough undergraduate class time to discuss, assign, evaluate, etc – multiple perspectives. I have some experience with this, as I do try to create those kinds of classes; while students pretend to like them, they always say there is too much material to synthesize to gain any reasonable perspective in a 10-week course.
I agree with them.

But it is OK because UOM is a member in good standing of the “Kristoff liberal self-loathing club”, only too ready to embrace conservative gaslighting even on the strength of statistically-meaningless self reporting.
