Emerald Story here:
UO Matters, a news and opinion blog, published an email that indicated UO President Michael Schill was pitching candidates to Oregon Gov. Kate Brown at a women’s basketball game. The veracity of this email is not confirmed, but supports Schranck’s claim.
This email comes from Governor Kate Brown’s public record’s website, here. Page down for the link:
And unlike UO GC Kevin Reed, who uses fees and delays to subvert Oregon’s PR law, our Governor responds promptly, does not charge a fee, and put the docs up on google for all to see.
So the governor is supposedly open and responsive about info ? Sure, ask her about seeing the details of all the documents regarding the Knight campus fiasco. ‘
Tell us more. My readers love a good fiasco.
Well, I’m used to your spreading falsehoods about my dedication to transparency, but now you are misrepresenting the Governor? She does, indeed, charge for public records, and has a much less generous policy on how much time for records searches is on the house (30 minutes, vs. 60 for us.)
70% of UO records requests were fulfilled with no fees at all. You can get a full picture of how we responded to the 400+ requests last year in our annual report.
