Ducks get D grade on employment of women coaches

Last updated on 12/20/2013

Report from U of Minnesota here. 67% of the UO coaches for women’s sports are men. I don’t know if they are counting cheerleading as a sport.

Also see this InsideHighereEd report by former UO journalism student Allie Grasgreen. The Duck athletic department’s 5-year “Diversity Action” window-dressing plan is here, and these issues are also painted over in UO’s 2005 NCAA certification report, here (Posted by the AD on demand of UO Matters, and if I recall only after a petition to the Oregon DOJ.)

Speaking of diversity inaction, UO Ed School prof and former UO Diversity Director Charles Martinez, famed for his double dipping on NIH grants and these “Strategic 5-year Diversity Inaction Plans” has just been appointed by Gov. Kitzhaber to the Oregon Education Board.

Nancy Golden thinks “there is no one who understands equity more than Charles Martinez.” Interesting.

That speaks more for Nancy than it does for CMJ
