That would be Provost Kimberly Espy of UTSA:
As always, we are committed to putting the health and safety of our entire campus community first. To uphold that commitment, we will begin the spring semester virtually with most scheduled classes meeting online for three weeks, from January 18 through February 6.
If we went online, it could help our football team be a safe bubble. Anyone think about that?
Oh, yes, the good old days when Espy was at UO!
I just threw up in my mouth.
ah, the warm glow of retrospection and nostalgia.
UW is encouraging faculty to go remote through the end of the month, and they have fewer cases than us. https://www.washington.edu/coronavirus/testing-results/
There’s the rub: “As always, we are committed to putting the health and safety of our entire campus community first.”
The actions take by our Administrative Powers convince no one that the health and safety of “our entire campus community” is being put first. There are obviously different interest groups and different powers pulling things in different directions. And there are winners and losers, with some put at greater risk than others, and with more difficulties involved.
